The Old Head of Kinsale is a remarkably dramatic piece of Ireland, protruding more than 3km into the Atlantic Ocean. Located on the Southwest Coast in County Cork, it is famous for its world-class, 18-hole golf course. Long before it became a golfer’s paradise, Old Head was known for its lighthouse, established in the 17th century. While Kinsale is a beautiful place to admire on land, it’s best seen from the sea.

This tour offers stunning views of the spectacular scenery and unforgettable experience. We will launch from the pier next to the The Speckled Door pub and paddle out to the caves under the golf course. Depending on the tide, we will be able to paddle through the caves under the golf course to the other side of the peninsula.

The tour requires paddlers to be reasonably fit, although in good conditions it is not overly strenuous paddle. A lesson is required prior going on this tour.

If this is your first time paddling, then we will start at the same place and will combine lesson with parts of the tour. We may not get to the caves, however, it will help you building skills and confidence while having fun.
